IPG System & Software Training

IPG provides operation, set-up, and maintenance training for laser systems and software after acceptance testing and installation are complete. Training is intended to ensure operator safety and enable your operation to fully benefit from the productivity and precision of high-performance laser systems.

If you are interested in a specific standard training course, please see the list below. If there is a course you are interested in that is not listed, or if you wish to contact IPG with a general training inquiry, please contact us.

Training courses:

FANUC Basic Robotic Programming

Upon completion of the FANUC Basic Programming training course, attendees will be able to independently create and modify FANUC ArcTool programs on the teach pendant to meet production needs.

FANUC Advanced Robotic Programming

Attendees will set up and utilize advanced robotic functionality including wire touch sensing and through arc seam tracking (TAST) and other heavy metal GMAW options. Upon completion of the FANUC Advanced Programming course, attendees will have the ability to master the robot and auxiliary axes (define the physical zero position of each joint), calibrate, and maintain utility programs.

FANUC WeldPro Offline Programming

The FANUC WeldPro Offline Programming course will prepare attendees to program a FANUC robot offline using ROBOGUIDE WeldPRO simulation software. Attendees will practice building custom virtual robotic welding systems and work cells.

IPG Laser Seam Stepper (LSS) Operations

Through detailed explanations and hands-on exercises, attendees will be able to safely and independently operate the IPG Laser Seam Stepper (LSS) system and perform limited maintenance tasks. This training enables operators to modify laser welding programs as necessary to meet production needs.

LightWELD® University

Attendees will learn laser welding fundamentals and how handheld laser techniques may differ from traditional welding techniques. Attendees will also learn how LightWELD settings like power, wobble amplitude, and wobble frequency influence weld quality, enabling both new and experienced welders to optimize parameters for various materials, part geometries, and applications.

LightWELD® Cobot System Training

Attendees will learn how to safely and independently operate the LightWELD Cobot System to create and modify automated laser welding and cleaning programs
