CW Fiber Amplifiers

IPG Photonics offers Ytterbium and Erbium fiber

amplifiers that can be matched to a user-supplied

seed laser. The center operating wavelength,

linewidth, polarization and desired output

power need to be specified. Broadband

and narrow line Ytterbium amplifiers

provide output power up to 2 kW,

single-frequency provide up to 50 W.

Erbium amplifiers power

range is 1-30 W.

Seed Laser Requirements: Continuous wave, 1-5 mW, meeting minimum bandwidth requirements. Please refer to product specifications.

Polarization: Linear or Random

IPG Photonics manufactures continuous wave Ytterbium and Erbium fiber amplifiers with nominal wavelengths 1 and 1.5 micron, respectively. Single-frequency CW lasers and amplifiers have MOPFA architecture. All other low power CW lasers and amplifiers have Fabri-Perot architecture. Above 100 W the amplifiers may have hybrid architecture (Fabri-Perot followed by an optical isolator and power amplifier).

IPG Photonics currently does not manufacture amplifiers at 2 microns. If you need a CW source operating around 2 microns, please consider TLR-LP (up to 50 W) and TLM/TLR (up to 200 W) CW Thulium lasers and Cr:ZnSe/S CW Mid-IR hybrid lasers.

IPG Photonics does not manufacture broadband pulsed amplifiers. However, we offer picosecond and femtosecond pulsed fiber lasers at 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 microns, as well as femtosecond Mid-IR pulsed laser in 2-3 micron range.
