Compact ULH System

The 2 Rack Unit (RU) version of the ULH system is an economical companion to the 9 RU, 16 Input/Output (I/O) slot shelf. This compact shelf has 4 I/O card slots and accommodates any combination of 4 ULH I/O blades including transponders (2.5G multi-rate, 10G and 40G) and optical amplifiers (pre-amplifiers, booster amplifiers, Raman signal amplifiers and optical pumps for EDFA-based Remote Optically Pumped Amplifers.)

The shelf is equipped with two load-sharing power supplies and a control unit (CU). The CU provides status monitoring, control and adjustment of the installed blades and hosts the SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) for the system.

    1 RU Pre-amp & Booster

    A stand-alone Pre-amp & Booster chassis is also available that supports up to 60 dB optical budget for legacy or 3rd party optical transmission platforms. A 200 mW booster amplifier is paired with a pre-amp with -38 dBm receive sensitivity in a small 1 RU (1.75” or 43.7mm vertical rack space) package that mounts in a 19” (478 mm) equipment rack.
