The ability to couple light from feeding fiber to process greatly expands upon IPG’s fiber laser functionality. Typical feeding fiber core diameter of low order mode kW class lasers is 50 microns, while process fibers have many different core diameters up to several hundreds of microns. Optical coupling provides ease of replacement of process fibers when switching from one application to another or in case of damage to a process fiber. If accidental damage to the process fiber occurs, the power source remains intact. Couplers are available with 12, 25, 50 and 75 mm optics. Couplers are configured with QBH compatible HLC, and QD compatible LCA bayonets and adaptors.
