Laser Ablation
Laser ablation relates to the removal of material from the surface of a part. This material can be either coatings on the surface or machining the bulk substrate. Laser ablation can be implemented on large surfaces, such as paint removal of aircraft skins. The ablative process can also be confined to smaller areas for thin film patterning, removing or opening windows in protective films, or milling feature contours into the surface of the base material. Laser Brazing
Brazing and soldering are metal joining processes in which a filler material such as a foil or wire is introduced at the weld joint. This technique doesn’t melt the parent material, but uses the filler material to create a strong joint.
